Image transfer can be a very powerful tool in any creative's tool kit! Let's have a look at some options offered by Pentart in more detail!
Image Transfer:
Water – based universal transfer gel will transfer laser printed images to any surface. Applied onto fabric, glass and porcelain, each to be cured with either an oven or an iron. Image Transfer is an old technique. Use it as a gel medium and then rub away the paper, leaving behind only the ink.
With Image Transfer, printing in black and white or in color, the image needs to be mirrored before printing.
Image and Express Transfer is another technique between a rub- on transfer and decoupage. The image that is transferred will have some imperfections.
How To Use:
Using a clean brush, apply a thin even layer of Image Transfer onto the surface and front of the image you wish to apply.
Lay the image face down onto the surface, using a squeegee to remove the air bubbles.
Set aside to dry.
After it’s completely dry, mist water onto the piece and onto a soft towel, and rub off the paper. Repeat the drying and rubbing until all of the paper is gone.
Express Transfer:
The solvent – based solution is used to transfer laser printed images to smooth, porous surfaces. Caution. This product is flammable.
Express Transfer works best in black and white rather than in color. Color will be very faint when transferred.
How To Use:
Lay the mirror laser printed image face down.
Dip a Q-Tip into Express Transfer and blot any excess off.
Rub the whole image.
After that, using a wooden stick or squeegee and applying slight pressure, rub across the whole area. Remove the paper and apply varnish.
