Super Glass Resin, Pouring Glaze - Pentart 101- Episode 33

How to use Pentart super glass resin and pouring glaze

The resin can be colored by adding Pigments, Mica Powders, Metal Flakes, Galaxy Flakes, Colored Foils Flakes, or Micro Beads.

Super Glaze Resin comes in three different sizes, 250 ml, 125 ml, and 40 ml.

Prior to pouring into a silicone mold, be sure to use rubbing alcohol to clean the mold. Drying time will be 24 hours but will be flexible. The total drying time is 72 hours, and the resin will be stiff.

Please do read the guidelines thoroughly before using this product. Also wear protective gear such as clothing, gloves, googles, and a respirator. Work in a well -ventilated area.

When dealing with resin bubbles, there are two methods that can be used. The first method is to use a torch to pop the bubbles. However, repeated usages with the torch on silicon molds over time will destroy the silicone mold. The best and second method is to use 99% rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. A quick spritz over the poured resin will pop the bubbles. This process might be repeated throughout the drying time which is 45 mins. But be mindful to not overdo on spritzing with the rubbing alcohol as the rubbing alcohol could affect the resin.

Pouring Glaze is a water-based, high gloss thick varnish. Use a brush or directly pour from the jar. With a brush, apply multiple layers to achieve a glazed effect. Pour directly onto a flat surface for an even layer. Total drying time will depend on the thickness of the pouring.

A great and safe alternative to epoxy resin is Pouring Glaze. It mimics epoxy resin but it is not the same.

Tip: Brushing Pouring Glaze over a transparent frosted resin casting to give the resin casting a crystal clear effect.
