Mirror Mist is a solvent - based paint that creates a mirror effect on glass or transparent plastic. The two types of Mirror Mist, Mirror Mist Glass, and Mirror Mist Plastic are not interchangeable.Â
How to use:
Work in a well ventilated area.
Shake the bottle well.
Screw in the nozzle head.
Degrease the surface well.
Spray on, keeping a small distance.
Use a paper towel to catch the over- spray and to protect your work area.
Apply two coats, drying between coats.
As a final touch, apply a layer of black acrylic paint to emphasise the mirror effect.
Clean the nozzle head after each use to prevent future blockage.
Important
Mirror Mist is flammable! Please do not dry with heat. You can use cool air like a fan for example. Otherwise, allow it to dry naturally.Â
Mirror Mist comes in two packages, a green box for plastic and a blue one for glass surfaces. Applying by using the nozzle to spray or a sponge to dab will give different effects.
Tip: Once the Mirror Mist bottle has been opened, try to use as much of the product as possible. Otherwise, the Mirror Mist will evaporate.Â
Mix it up!
You can achieve amazing effects by using alcohol inks prior to using Mirror Mist onto the surface. This will change the color of the Mirror Mist. Also, another great effect is to use gilding flakes before applying Mirror Mist.Â
