How to use Lasur Gel and Stain

Lasur Gels is a water-based highly pigmented stain with a gel consistency that colors and protects wood. It easily spreads with a brush, sponge or palette knife and can be applied through a stencil. It also comes in a variety of colors.

Colors:

  • Ebony

  • Cherry

  • Mahogany

  • Chestnut

  • Palisander

  • Olive

  • Walnut

  • Oak

  • Country Blue, Green, and Rose

  • White

  • Red


Lasur Gel colors can be mixed to create amazing results. Due to its thick gel consistency, Lasur Gel can be used as a stain and can also mimic wood grain by using the wood-grain tool. 


Fact: Lasur Gels are very similar to the Antiquing Gels, except that Lasur Gels come with many more colors. 


A great alternative way to use Lasur Gels is  like paint, creating stunning effects. After the product has dried, the piece will be water-proof and will not need to be varnished. 


Fact: Lasur Gel and Lasur do not have a scent.. They are user friendly. 


Lasur Gels come in more antique types of colors, but Lasur is more vibrant with the traditional colors of wood stain. 


Lasur Gel and Lasur can only be applied to porous surfaces, unless they are applied over dry paint.

Colors:

  • Blue

  • Green

  • Olive

  • Pine

  • Chestnut

  • Walnut

  • Lilac

  • Magenta

  • Brown

  • Red

  • Orange

  • Yellow

  • Turquoise Blue


Applying Lasur onto wood gives the appearance of stained wood. Another layer can be added on top of the first dried layer to enhance the stained color. The stain does not need to be sealed.


In addition to applying Lasur on wood, it can also be used to stain bare MDF and chipboard pieces. 


Fact: Mixing Lasur colors onto your piece gives an amazing effect. 


Lasurs are very versatile. Use them for more than just staining. For example, Lasurs can be used as an aging technique, permanent watercolor and in mixed medias. 


Tip: Lasur resists areas where glue has been applied, intentionally or unintentionally, after the glue has dried.
